I'm glad to hear that there are several people genuinely interested in trying to make this work. Don't get discouraged. Sooner or later a window will pop open for everyone. Better luck next week perhaps.

Oops. I left thursday night bible study, and promptly went to bed.

I am free to try any night you want. Just got to have enough advance notice, as I only check this forum ever so often.

I plan on attending another arfcom campout next weekend (not THIS weekend), and several of us will be packing our rigs and setting up antennas. That would be a cool time to try.

don't get us first.
Same place and time tonight.

Nothing but massive amounts of QRM from broadcast stations.

40 was a mess and we made no contact.

75 was better, you are going to have to make your

antenna a little longer.

Journeyman had a good place cleared out

on 75.

See you next time

I would like to say thanks to those who made contact and to those who tried. With each contact we learn more about our radios and how to use them. I will encourage others to try to join our next Frugal Squirrel net. Our radios may be our only means of communication in the event of a disaster. Glen KA5***

Sorry I missed it guys.

Our 2nd child is due in about 3 weeks, and tonight my wife had a bit of a "funny" feeling, so off to the hospital to get her checked out. I kept hollering at her "Honey, I gotta get back by 9 for the QSO!" but she wouldn't listen. That's when the doctor called security.... [Wink]

Anyway, things are back to normal. I'll try to stop her from being so inconsiderate the next time we are scheduled to have a QSO.

Keep up the good work!

Stay Safe,

Same results as Double Eagle here. I hollered a bit but heard nobody.

We'll get this thing nailed down eventually.

May i suggest the following frequencies +/- 5 kHz?

7.270
14.270
18.160
21.370

Frequency hop every 15 minutes and park at best QSO?

Also to use UTC starting at 0200 Wednesday and Thursday? (EST is UTC -5 hours)

80m is pretty packed any given night here on the east coast.
